InstantFocus ("we", "us", or "our") is a synthetic panel evaluation API operated as a sole proprietorship based in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

This policy applies to developers and other individuals who visit our website, create an account, or use the InstantFocus API.

What data we collect

We collect only the data needed to provide, operate, and improve the API service. We do not sell personal data.

  • Developer email — Email address you provide when registering for an API key
  • Payment data — Billing name, address, and tokenized payment method via Stripe. We never store raw card numbers.
  • API usage logs — Request timestamps, endpoints, response codes, credit usage, and API key identifiers
  • IP addresses — Captured in server logs for security and abuse prevention
  • API request content — Product descriptions and stimuli you submit for evaluation

How we use your data

Developer email is used to provision API keys and send transactional messages. Payment data is processed by Stripe for billing. API usage logs support billing, abuse detection, and service improvement. Request content is processed by OpenAI to generate responses and is not stored beyond the request lifecycle.

  • OpenAI — AI processing of API request content
  • Stripe — Payment processing (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified)
  • Cloudflare — Hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection

Data retention

  • Developer email: lifetime of account + 30 days
  • Payment records: 7 years (tax compliance)
  • API usage logs: 90 days
  • Request content: not retained beyond the transaction

Your rights

Under GDPR (EU/EEA) and CCPA (California), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email hello@instantfocus.dev with the subject "Data Rights Request."

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies (session authentication, Cloudflare bot protection, Stripe fraud prevention). No analytics or advertising cookies.

Synthetic output disclaimer

API outputs are AI-generated synthetic content not derived from real individuals. They are not subject to GDPR or CCPA as personal data.
